C-5 Agreement between the School District of Clay County and Project Lead The Way
Issue/Rationale
Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a nationally recognized four year pre-engineering curriculum that offers students the opportunity to receive college credit while still in high school. All classes in PLTW are weighted Level 3 classes which prepare students to enter postsecondary engineering programs. The program does require specific professional development activities for our instructors to ensure the rigorous curriculum is maintained. PLTW is currently being used in the Academy of Engineering and Computer Science at Orange Park High School, with plans to be used in the technology classes at Green Cove Springs Jr. High and Lakeside Jr. High for school year 2010-2011.
Recommended Action
Approve the Agreement as presented.
Financial Impact
There will be additional Professional Development costs which will be paid through the Perkins grant.
