C-29 Proposed Student Meal Price Increases for the 2007-08 School Year
Issue/Rationale
School Board approval is required.
Student meal prices have remained unchanged since school year 2001-02 despite inflation and steady increases in food and fuel costs. Cost for the department have increased to the point that additional revenue must be provided to cover expenses for 2007-08.
Recommended Action
Superintendent recommends Alternative proposed increases.
Financial Impact
Increase of student breakfast price from $1.00 to $1.25
Increase elementary lunch from $1.25 to $1.50
Increase secondary lunch from $1.60 to $1.85
Increase Jr. High "Shake It Up" lunch from $1.75 to $2.00
Increase High School "Mega Meal" from $2.00 to $2.25
