May 17, 2007 Regular Meeting Agenda Item #61 Item Title Consider New School Naming and Potential Names for Elementary School "W" (Oakleaf East Area) and Elementary School "X" (Lake Asbury Area) Issue/Rationale The naming of new schools is a School Board responsibility.  Two (2) new schools will be under construction in F.Y. 2007/08.  Names for these schools are required.  Attached are potential names for each school.  The School Board may select from these lists or develop an alternate process for the name selection.  This item is not intended for action at this Board meeting.  The School Board should consider its preferred process, establish such and define the timeline to conclude the naming of the schools.  Staff would like the name to be completed by July, 2007 if at all possible. Recommended Action Determine process and timeline for the naming of Elementary School "W" (Oakleaf East Area) and Elementary School "X" (Lake Asbury Area).
