Oakleaf School was closed on May 4 and 5, 2009, as recommended by the Health Department due to a student contracting the H1N1 flu virus.  Under Florida State Board Rule 6A-1.09533, following School Board approval, requests can be made to the Commissioner of Education to waive up to three (3) days if the net 900 hours of instructional time is provided during the school year.  The students at Oakleaf School will receive the required instructional hours during the remaining 177 days.    Note:  During this school year, the Commissioner previously approved the waiver of two (2) days for Tropical Storm Fay (August 21 and 22, 2008).
