Agenda Item #22

Item Title
C-21 Purchase off of WSCA RFP # S1907

Issue/Rationale

Request approval to participate in the Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA) Wireless Contract Request for Proposal (RFP) # S1907 for Wireless Communication Services, Accessories and Equipment.

The State of Nevada lead agency for WSCA solicited a RFP 1907 for Wireless Communication Services for contract term November 1, 2012 through October 31, 2016, with the option to extend for an additional two (2) years beyond the initial contract term.  The purpose of this RFP was to establish contracts on a competitive basis with qualified vendors to directly supply wireless communication services including, but not limited to: the wireless transmission of voice, data and/or video content; optional messaging, two-way radio, wireless internet access or other related communications; and/or wireless data transmission services, wireless communication equipment, accessories, and devices, as well as related maintenance and support services.

Recommended Action

Approve this reasonable request to utilize contract to insure the School Board receives completive pricing for wireless communication services with AT&T Mobility, Sprint Solutions, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless.

Financial Impact

Savings due to greater volume price discounts by combining the volume of purchases from governmental entities within multiple states plus administrative savings that will result from the maintenance of a single, comprehensive contract for each selected vendor/agency.
