Item Title
C-11 Application for Developmental Disabilities Council Grant for the Social Inclusion Project at RHS, LAJH, and LJH for a total of $5,000.00.

Issue/Rationale

The Developmental Disabilities Council is offering a grant to three schools, Ridgeview High, Lake Asbury Junior High, and Lakeside Junior High, to promote social inclusion,  It will fund community field trips, student assistance, school enhancement, including entrance fees, speakers or guest, "spirit" items such as club fees, prom expenses, etc.

The goal is to provide students with developmental disabilities and their general education peers opportunities to participate in activities together, even beyond the academic school day.  Other agencies, FDLRS, CARD, and FIN may also assist and provide training.



Recommended Action
The Superintendent recommends approval.

Financial Impact

This will support activities at the school with $1,300.00 for LAJH, $1,300.00 for LJH and $2,400.00 for RHS.
