Item Title
C-10 A second amendment to the Policies and Procedures for the Provision of Specially Designed Instruction and Related Services for Exceptional students 2004-2005 through 2006-2007 has been received as the result of a legal settlement.

Issue/Rationale

Verification of School board approval of the Special Program and Procedures Manual must be submitted in order to participate in state funding, as a result of a legal settlement regarding speech eligibility, DOE is providing a required amendment.

This document outlines the requirements for eligibility and placement in ESE programs in Clay District Schools.  FEFP participation requires this document and current services cannot be provided without participation.



Recommended Action
The Superintendent recommends approval.

Financial Impact
FEFP funding for Special Education is necessary to provide services.  There are no other funding sources to replace these funds.
