According to School Board Policy, State Requirements for Educational Facilities and Florida Statutes, an engineer is required to be appointed.

The project was advertised for three consecutive weeks with The Clay Today. The process for screening and selection was in full accordance with School Board policy. Selection Committee Members were Thomas Smith – Director of Maintenance, Jim Connell – Director of Facility Planning and Construction and Carol Vallencourt – School Board Member.

As a result of the interviews and after due consideration, the Selection Committee recommends the following firms as listed in priority order:

          1.       Kenyon & Partners, Inc.

          2.       Estrella Engineering Incorporated

          3.       Ossi & Myler, Inc.

Appoint the top ranked firm, Kenyon & Partners, Inc., as Engineers for Professional Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services County-Wide at a fee of 6% of the construction cost.

All funding necessary for the engineering fees resulting from this contract are budgeted with the Capital Projects Plan. The exact amount of fees cannot be determined at this time.
