C-30 Construction Contract Award to Install New Chiller at Ridgeview High School

Issue/Rationale

Bid opening was held August 25, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. The project had three (3) bidders and was advertised three (3) times.

Recommended Action

Award the contract to the low bidder meeting specifications, A.C. General, Inc. for a base bid of $294,000.00, plus Alternate #1, $15,000.00 for a total bid of $309,000.00.

(Alternate #1 – Provide for 5 year service on the new chiller)

Financial Impact

$200,000.00 has been budgeted for fiscal year 2008-09 of the Capital Projects Plan. The difference will be made up from SEC III Capital Outlay Plan.
