Issue Rationale for bids to be awarded as required per FS 287, DOE 6A-1.01 and School Board Policy

a.  Tree Trimming and Removal County-Wide Bid #09-MA-293, Contract Period is September 19, 2008 through September 17, 2009 – Bid established for the purchase of labor, materials and equipment to safely and successfully remove trees, stumps where required, trim trees and remove all debris from School Board property county-wide. 

Twelve (12) bids solicited plus listed on our web site for download and four (4) bids received.  The vendors awarded are the lowest most responsive qualified bidders meeting specifications. 

b. Construction Materials – Sheds Bid #09-CTE-02, Contract Period is September 19, 2008 through November 2, 2008 – Bid established for the purchase and delivery of materials for construction of six sheds by the Career and Technical Education Programs.  Eleven (11) bids solicited plus listed on our web site for download, three (3) bids received and one (1) NO bid.  The vendor awarded is the lowest most qualified responsive bidder meeting specifications.   

Award bid as follows:

a. Tree Trimming and Removal County-Wide Bid #09-MA-293 - Recommend award to:

First low bidder:  Mac’s Tree Service, 4476 County Road 218, Middleburg, FL 32068

Second low bidder:  East Coast Tree and Land Company, 5631 County Road 352, Keystone Heights, FL 32656 

Lowest bidder shall always be given first consideration during contract period.  When the lowest bidder is unable to perform services, the next low bidders, based on the order of award, shall be contacted.

a. Construction Materials – Sheds Bid #09-CTE-02 - Recommend award to:

Home Depot, 1575 Branan Field Rd, Middleburg, FL  32068

a. Tree Trimming and Removal County-Wide Bid #09-MA-293:  Estimated $50,000.00

b. Construction Materials – Sheds Bid #09-CTE-02:  Estimated $30,000.00
