| Title C9 - Charter School Contract Renewal: Florida Cyber Charter Academy (FLCCA) | ||
| Description Section 1002.33(8)(a), Florida Statute, requires the district to “make student academic achievement for all students the most important fact when determining whether to renew or terminate a charter.” The Charter with Florida Cyber Charter Academy at Clay, which opened 2014-15 will expire on June 30, 2024. The school currently serves approximately 250 K-12 students. Northeast Florida Virtual Charter Board, Inc. has requested that its charter be renewed for a term of 5 years. | ||

| Financial Impact Through FEFP, $965,156 was assigned to the school with 5% admin withheld by the district for administrative fees at $48,257.80. Section 1002.33(17)(b), F.S., sets forth the funding formula whereby school districts pass through state funds to charter schools, and Section 1002.33(20)(a), F.S., sets forth the school district’s ability to retain up to 5% for enrollment of up to and including 250 students of the student funding for the school district’s administrative fees for providing certain central services. An additional $80,000 is currently awarded in multiple state and federal grants through a per pupil allocation. As a virtual school, tax dollars assigned for capital improvements are not passed through. | ||
