C9 - USI STEM Curriculum & Certification Agreement
Description

Unmanned Safety Institute Inc. (USI)  provides flight safety education materials and testing upon program completion to students seeking a Small UAS Safety Certification.  This program will be offered at Oakleaf High School through it's Aerospace Academy.    

Gap Analysis

Partnering with USI will allow students to receive an Industry Certification which will increase thier employability skills and overall certification numbers in the district.    

Previous Outcomes

The Clay County School District has partnered with USI previosuly through Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, students earned Indusrty Certifications as part of their dual enrollment program.  This new partnership is open to students who are in the Aerospace Academy through CTE. 

Expected Outcomes

This will allow more students to have the opportunity to become college and career ready. As well as increase the number of certifications earned at Oakleaf High School.

Ensure that every classroom provides a quality and rigorous instructional experience in order to elevate student outcomes.

Recommendation

Approve the USI STEM Curriculum & Certification Agreement.

Financial Impact
Cost is $3,500 per year which includes teacher training, student workbooks and exams. This is paid for from Industry Certification dollars.
