April 1, 2021 - Regular School Board Meeting
Title C13 - Florida Virtual School
Description An amendment to the collaborative agreement between Florida Virtual School and School Board of Clay County (SBCC) for the virtual curriculum for Clay Virtual Academy (CVA) grades 6-12 was approved on June 25, 2020. This agreement provides course content for Clay County students enrolled in virtual courses as required per Florida Statute 1002.45. During the 2020-2021 school year, the Governor's Executive Orders directed all schools to provide Innovative Learning options for reopening schools. Clay County Schools provided students and families four educational options for reopening; full time brick and mortar, OneClayOnline, blended brick and mortar/virtual, and Clay Virtual Academy. Both blended (7-12) and CVA (K-12) options provided virtual coursework, representing a significant expansion to the virtual program.
Gap Analysis This program is essential to the Clay Virtual Academy. It contains the content and curriculum. This program serves as one of our two virtual options as required by state statute. Clay Virtual Academy has franchised with FLVS since 2011.
