Minutes: Dr. Susan Legutko, Assistant Superintendent for Business Affairs, provided a visual presentation of the 2018-2019 budget that included the proposed millages, roll-back rate calculation, and proposed revenues and expenditures. She reported an increase in the roll-back rate of 0.98 percent. The district's total tentative budget (all funds) for the fiscal year 2018-2019 is $401,946,118.

Minutes: The public hearing was opened. After no one came forward to speak to the budget and millages, the public hearing was closed.

3. Adopt the 2018-2019 Required Local Effort Mill Levy
|

That the Clay County School Board adopt the 2018-2019 tentative proposed required local effort mill levy of 3.933 with a proposed amount to be raised of $46,922,471. The RLE millage includes basic RLE of 3.930 and a prior period adjustment millage of .003.

That the Clay County School Board adopt the 2018-2019 tentative proposed total millage which equals 6.181 with a total amount to be raised of $73,742,129. The total millage rate of 6.181 is 0.98 percent more than the roll back rate.

And, set the Public Hearing on the final Budget for Thursday, September 6, 2018, at 6:00 p.m.

11. Public Comments
|
Minutes: Richard Warner - questions about the proposed millage rate increase
Superintendent Mr. Davis responded that this millage increase would support safety and security in our schools. Mr. Davis also announced that he will hold multiple community information meetings throughout the county. The meetings and locations will be advertised through various media formats and outlets.
