Pursuant to Florida Statute 1000.39(1) district school board members are allowed reimbursement of travel expenses as authorized in sec. 112.061 F.S. provided that expenses exceeding $500  per school board member are pre-approved by the school board and are incurred for travel for official business of the school district and comply with State Board of Education rules. The approval must occur at a school board meeting, immediately after the public has had an opportunity to speak on the specific travel agenda item.
