School Board Rule 6.01 L(1)(d) allows the Superintendent, with the approval of the School Board, to name significant components of a school facility, including the athletic field to recognize the significant non-financial contributions of private individuals to the specific school or the district as a whole. The administration and faculty of Fleming Island High School, through the Superintendent, are seeking approval to name the Fleming Island High School athletic field after Randy Warren, the athletic director of the school from the time that the school was in its construction stages until his retirement in 2017. Coach Warren passed away in September 2019.
