Description

The selection was conducted in accordance with Florida Statute 287.055. The project was advertised for three consecutive weeks with The Clay Today. Three (3) firms submitted proposals. Selection Committee members were Jeff Marks, Project Manager, Dr. Michael Kemp, Director for Facility Planning and Construction, and Beth Clark, Board Member. As a result of interviews and after due consideration, the Selection Committee recommends the following firms listed below to be selected for a period of 1 year with the option for renewal as listed in alphabetical order:

  • H2 Engineering
  • Haddad Engineering, Inc.
  • Mitchell Gulledge Engineering, Inc.

Previous Outcomes

Awarding a continuing contract for Professional Mechanical/Electrical Services authorizes a firm or individual to proceed with School Board projects not exceeding a specified monetary value specified in Board Policy for a period of one year. The appointments may be extended for an additional period if agreeable to the School Board and the mechanical/electrical firm(s). The appointed firm shall be available to design, manage, and inspect any School Board projects under the authorized limit without having to bid against other firms.

Expected Outcomes

This contract allows for more efficient project schedules, which subsequently provides a timelier project completion. The appointed mechanical/electrical engineering firm(s) shall be available to design, manage, and inspect any projects under the authorized limit.

Ensure fiscal responsibility through the effective management of district operations in an effort to maximize available resources necessary to provide an environment that is safe, efficient, and conducive to learning.

Recommendation

Approval of continuing contracts for Professional Services with the following Mechanical/Electrical Engineering firms: H2 Engineering, Haddad Engineering, Inc., and Mitchell Gulledge Engineering, Inc.

Financial Impact
All funding necessary for the Mechanical/Electrical fees resulting from this contract are budgeted within the Educational Facilities Work Plan. Fiscal impact will be based on the budget of the individual projects.
