Approval is requested to adopt a resolution classifying six (6) sets of aluminum ramps and stairs—two (2) sets located at Rideout Elementary School and four (4) sets located at Oakleaf Junior High School—as surplus tangible personal property. Because the portable modular buildings previously served by these ramps and stairs have been removed from service, the equipment is no longer needed for educational or ancillary purposes. Continued storage and maintenance are uneconomical. Adoption of the resolution authorizes staff to dispose of the property by the most economical means pursuant to Sections 274.05 and 1013.28, Florida Statutes.

Taking no action would result in an unnecessary financial burden on the district through ongoing storage, transport, and maintenance costs for equipment with no operational utility.

The School Board has approved the disposal of portable ramps and stairs in the past.

The School Board will adopt the resolution declaring the six (6) sets of aluminum ramps and stairs as surplus property and authorizing their disposal by the most economical means available.
