Description

Clay County District Schools annual program outcomes and expenditures report as required by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas legislation.

Gap Analysis

The purpose of the Mental Health Assistance Allocation is to assist in providing supplemental funding for school districts to establish and expand comprehensive school-based mental health programs that: increase awareness of mental health issues among students, train educators and other school staff in detecting and responding to mental health issues, and connect students and families who may experience behavioral or mental health issues with appropriate services.

Beginning September 30, 2019, and annually thereafter, each entity that receives a mental health assitance allocation must submit a final report to the commissioner on its program outcomes and expenditures for each element of the program.

Previous Outcomes

2018-2019 is the first year the Mental Health Assitance Allocation has been available.

Expected Outcomes

There will be an overall increase in the number of students who receive: screenings or assessments, referrals for services or assistance, and receive services or assitance.  There will be an overall increase in the number of staff wo are trained to engage in the services or techniques to assist students with mental or behavioral health needs.
