| Title C2 - Approve Addendum to Contract for Legal Services between the School Board of Clay County, Florida and the Douglas Law Firm | ||
| Description Florida Statute 1002.43(10) and School Board Policy 1.02(D) authorize the School Board to obtain an attorney from outside of its own membership to act as the legal advisor to the School Board and to the Superintendent. Board Policy requires a written contract for such services. A written Contract for Legal Services met the requirement of the Policy and was approved on February 27, 2024, to retain the services of Douglas Law Firm beginning 3/1/2024. The attached Addendum to the Professional Services Agreement amends and modifies the prior agreement to provide for specific representation in truancy and student disciplinary hearings. | ||
| Gap Analysis The necessity of additional legal support for The student truancy program is a prioritized goal of Clay County District Schools and requires additional legal support. | ||
