The Florida legislature recognizes the importance of planning for developing human potential and requires each district to develop a comprehensive Professional Learning Catalog, which outlines the professional learning opportunities available to CCDS teachers.  Each district is required to update, revise, and submit a Professional Learning Catalog to provide a detailed description of each professional learning component. Each unique type of professional learning experience requires a corresponding component. Changes to the professional learning catalog are required to be approved by the board. 

Deans have unique professional learning needs.  While they do benefit from many of the professional learning sessions that are currently offered, there is a need for more specific learning opportunities tailored to their context.  A component for Dean Professional Learning  will be added to the Professional Learning Catalog to allow Deans to be awarded points for engaging in these professional learning opportunities. 

The 2025-2026 CCDS Professional Learning Catalog was approved in May 2025.

The CCDS Professional Learning Catalog will include a new component for Dean Professional Learning and will allow Deans to earn in-service points for this role specific professional learning.

Strategy: 2.3  Retain employees through opportunities for growth and career development leading to high satisfaction and increased student outcomes.

That the Clay County School Board approve the additions to the CCDS Professional Learning Catalog.
