C23 - Purchase Agreement for Four (4) Relocatable Buildings at Keystone Heights Elementary School
Description

Relocatable building type 92, rooms 717, 771, 772, and 773 located at Keystone Heights Elementary School, identified as CI 2005, CI 2236, CI 2237, and CI 2238 need to be disposed of due to space necessary to complete the new cafeteria and multi-purpose educational facility that is currently being constructed.  The relocatables have exceeded or nearing the end of their service life and are no longer eligible for educational or ancillary purposes.  Due to the excessive costs associated with moving and repairing aged and decrepit portables, it is not cost effective to keep them in service; they have no commercial value, and should be disposed of by the most economical means available.  The cost to demolish the portables on site and haul away would be approximately $40,000.  The cost to move all four (4) portables would be in excess of $100,000.00  Therefore, the most economical method to dispose of the portables is to sell all four (4) to Freedom Christian Fellowship for $10.00 with all moving and removal expenses paid for by the purchaser.

Gap Analysis

No action would result in an unnecessary financial burden on the district.

The School Board has approved the disposal of relocatables in the past.

Expected Outcomes

It is expected the School Board will approve the purchase agreement to sell  relocatable building type 92, rooms  717, 771, 772, and 773 located at Keystone Heights Elementary School, identified as CI 2005, CI 2236, CI 2237, and CI 2238.

Recommendation

Financial Impact
The District will receive $10.00 for the sale of these relocatables. The funds received shall credit the fund originally sourced for the original acquisition per SREF 2.1(4)(a)-(h).
