Title C15 - 20-21 Beacon Pediatrics | ||
Description Beacon Pediatrics provides technical support for students being admitted/discharged from Statewide In-Patient Psychiatric Placements (SIPP). SEDNET Region 4 is contracted to organize the admission/discharge of students requiring SIPP as requested by a psychiatrist/certified psychologist. SEDNET is a discretionary project through the state of Florida to provide support for students who are labeled Emotional/Behavior disabled or at risk. SEDNET Region 4 receives two federal grants, a state grant and contracted funding through Lutheran Services of Florida. The Lutheran Services of Florida contract provides SEDNET Region 4 funding to pay for mental health/behavioral/substance abuse intervention services as determined by multi-disciplinary teams. | ||
Gap Analysis SEDNET has contracted with Beacon Pediatrics for the last four years to provide technical support for students entering, residing or being discharged from SIPP. | ||
Previous Outcomes This vendor provides technical support to determine if the child’s mental health and behavioral needs are met by the SIPP placements. | ||
Expected Outcomes This provider provides support for the family and schools with the goal of keeping children from entering the foster care system and maintaining in their least restrictive school placement. | ||

Recommendation That the board approves the Beacon Pediatric contract. | ||
