Title C16 - 20 21 New Perspectives Services | ||
Description New Perspective Services provides mentoring to students as identified as eligible by SEDNET Region 4. SEDNET is a discretionary project through the state of Florida to provide support for students who are labeled Emotional/Behavior disabled or at risk. SEDNET Region 4 receives two federal grants, a state grant and contracted funding through Lutheran Services of Florida. The Lutheran Services of Florida contract provides SEDNET Region 4 funding to pay for mental health/behavioral/substance abuse intervention services as determined by multi-disciplinary teams. | ||
Gap Analysis SEDNET has contracted with New Perspective Services for the last four years to provide services to keep children in their least restrictive environment in their community. | ||
Previous Outcomes This vendor has provided the families with respite services allowing both students and parents the necessary break needed when coping with students with severe mental health and behavioral health needs. | ||
Expected Outcomes This provider provides support for the family and schools with the goal of keeping children from entering the foster care system and maintaining in their least restrictive school placement. | ||

Recommendation That the board approves the Family Services Resource contract. | ||
