Minutes:

Chief of Communications and Community Engagement Sabrina Thomas recognized Orange Park High School for achieving UCF Certified Community Partnership School status. Mrs. Thomas introduced Shawn Smith, Senior Director for Community Partnership Schools in the North Central Region with the Children's Home Society of Florida, and Erika Gilbert, Director of the Orange Park High School Community Partnership School, who shared remarks regarding the significance of the certification.

Superintendent Broskie affirmed the Board's commitment to supporting teacher salaries as resources allow, provided an update on enhanced volunteer safety measures and ongoing investigations, and recognized the Board's proactive actions to strengthen policies, background screening, training, and transparency to better protect students.

Minutes:

Mrs. Gilhousen welcomed the new school year and commended the Information Technology Department, administrators, and school counselors for the successful implementation of the district's new student information system. Mr. Alvero expressed support for assisting families with volunteer background check costs. Mrs. Clark shared her enthusiasm for the new school year. Mrs. Hanson recognized the Clay Education Foundation, community organizations, and district staff for supporting teachers and students, while expressing appreciation for educators' dedication. Chair Skipper encouraged families to embrace the district's new systems, highlighted the Board's continued efforts to strengthen volunteer safety procedures, thanked transportation staff for their work, and encouraged parents to complete volunteer and student preparations before the first day of school.
