Superintendent Broskie shared the attached visual presentation highlighting the following:

Superintendent Broskie urged parents to access school calendars via the district website to ensure receiving the updated, approved version.

34. School Board Member Comments
Minutes:

Mrs. Gilhousen attended a Clay Education Foundation meeting and provided an update to the Foundation re the policy overhaul being addressed as a major initiative for this year, inviting board members to contribute any information they wish her to convey to the Foundation during future meetings.

Mr. Alvero wished everyone a happy new year.

Mrs. Clark noted the amazing options available in high schools and is gratified to see students taking advantage of those gifts.  She attended a Bannerman Learning Center graduation this week comprised of 56 graduates, commending the administration and opportunities afforded by Bannerman.  She would like the board to consider doing a proclamation re anti-semitism.  

Mrs. Hanson proposed the board participate in FSBA's Master Board Training Reinstatement Program to retain Master Board distinction, ensure all board members are current on protocols, and enhance the board's ability to work together and support one another.  She stated that she has never seen a board so focused on teacher pay and commented on the financial support to employees' benefits as well as pay increases and indicated the board is always working for its employees.

Mrs. Skipper also expressed her passion for teacher pay, particularly veteran teachers.  She noted board accomplishments such as massive policy reform and will discuss ideas about messaging in future meetings.
