Superintendent Davis presented a certificate received from the Florida Department of Education to Doctors Inlet Elementary in recognition of their selection as a winner of the Five Star School Award for the 2018/2019 academic year.  The certificate was presented to Carolyn Ayers, Principal, and Jocelyn Farber, teacher, in recognition of exemplary community involvement in the categories of business partnerships, family involvement, volunteerism, student community service, and school advisory councils.

Kristi Gomez, Program Specialist and Trish Hunter, Military Support Specialist recognized seven students for their entries -

• Hunter Burke - (4th Grade) - S. Bryan Jennings Elementary
• Addison Magee - (6th Grade) - Fleming Island Elementary

• Raven Bastin - (3rd Grade) - Middleburg Elementary
• Cheyenne Carter - (2nd Grade) - Middleburg Elementary

No other public speakers were recognized by the Chair.

Superintendent's Presentation highlighted:

• Graduation Rate - 91.9%; highest in District history; ranked 8th in State;
• Controlled Open Enrollment;
• Recognition of law enforcement;
• Champions of Change - Makayla Buchanan, Executive Director, Clay Education Foundation and The Bailey Group; partners in Tools 4 Schools Initiative.

Routine Board comments were heard. There was discussion about scheduling a Board Workshop and Special Meeting to explore any available options to retain the current superintendent.
