Brenda Troutman, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, introduced an audio/visual presentation honoring Clay County District Schools' 2025-2026 retirees. These retirees had a total of 3,329 combined years of service.

Mary Owen, Social Studies Curriculum Specialist, recognized the district's selections for Social Studies Teachers of the Year.  These awards, sponsored by the Florida Council for Social Studies, recognize teachers who facilitate exceptional social studies education and inspire student learning in grades K - 12.

• Amanda Connelly (LAJ), Clay County’s nominee for the Clay Civics Champion Award 

Matthew Boyack, Director of OPR/Safety/Security, presented the quarterly Office of Safe Schools report. Mr. Boyack reported that no schools were inspected during the fourth quarter. He noted that during the 2025–2026 school year, 12 schools were inspected, with all schools ultimately achieving compliance with school safety requirements. Mr. Boyack commended school and district staff for their commitment to maintaining safe and secure learning environments.

Shawn Saint Vilus, Florida FBLA State Reporter and Ridgeview High School student, presented an overview of Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) in Clay County. He highlighted student achievements and leadership opportunities through FBLA, FFA, TSA, FCCLA, SkillsUSA, and HOSA, noting state and national level recognition earned by Clay County students. Mr. Saint Vilus emphasized the role of CTSOs in developing leadership, career readiness, technical skills, and future workforce success, and thanked the School Board for its continued support of student opportunities and achievement.

Superintendent Broskie highlighted several district initiatives and upcoming events, including the success of the One Clay Leadership Academy, the ESE Summer Summit, summer meal services, kindergarten registration, back to school health and wellness opportunities, and key dates for the start of the 2026 - 2027 school year. He also recognized staff for their continued commitment to student success and shared optimism regarding the district's anticipated academic performance for the upcoming state accountability release.

Board Chair Erin Skipper opened the floor for Board Member discussion regarding District volunteer policies. Board Members Hanson, Clark, Alvero, and Gilhousen discussed the review process, oversight, and future updates. Board Members expressed support for a comprehensive review of District volunteer policies and procedures. Superintendent David Broskie stated that the District's review was underway and that an update would be provided to the Board.

Following the Superintendent's Remarks, Board Chair Skipper opened the floor for additional Board Member remarks. Board Member Alvero recognized District retirees, thanked the student representative, and commented on the nation's 250th anniversary celebration. Board Member Clark commented on the nation's 250th anniversary celebration. Board Member Hanson recognized District retirees and commented on the Florida Youth Challenge Academy. Board Chair Skipper adjourned the meeting at 7:57 p.m.
