Through lengthy discussion and multiple failed motions, the majority of the Board supported variations of Option B.  All of the options require Clay County District Schools to hire a Chief of Police and to file the necessary paperwork with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to create its own law enforcement agency. All of the options also retain the School Safety Officers (SSO's).  Some Board members felt the SSO's would not be necessary with certified School Resource Officers at every school.
