1. Recognize Art in the Capitol Winner
Minutes:

Chris Gugel, Fine Arts Curriculum Specialist, recognized Athena Early, Lake Asbury Junior High, 8th Grade, for being a 1st Place Winner for Clay County District Schools Art in the Capitol Competition 2025-2026. Athena's artwork will be displayed in the State Capitol, on the second-floor rotunda.

2. Recognize Outstanding 2025-2026 School Volunteers
Minutes:

Tori Granese, Coordinator of Family and Community Engagement, and Paula Summers, Family and Community Engagement Specialist, recognized the outstanding school volunteers as follows:

Superintendent Broskie recognized Martin Aftuck, Middleburg High School, for being selected as the Principal of the Year.

4. Recognition of S.Bryan Jennings Elementary for consideration as a 2026 Exceeding Expectations "Award School"
Minutes:

Superintendent Broskie recognized S. Bryan Jennings for their consideration as a 2026 Exceeding Expectations "Award School". Exceeding Expectations Project is an initiative through the East Coast Technical Assistance Center (ECTAC), supporting 60 districts across Florida. Eligible schools were identified based on publicly available 2025 school grades, federal index, lunch status report, and enrollment data from the Florida Department of Education. S. Bryan Jennings has been identified as an ECTAC Award School, placed in the top 2% of all Florida schools.

45. School Board Member Comments
Minutes:

Mrs. Clark noted communications from citizens concerned about the shortage of school crossing guards and advised anyone willing to work part-time for Clay County Sheriff's Office as a crossing guard is needed.

Mrs. Hanson advised that she, the board, and the superintendent do understand the challenges of working as a teacher, citing her personal experience of 20 years teaching in a variety of settings, and she stated that teachers are close to heart, always in their thoughts, and they are working hard to fix the situation.
