Minutes:

Mrs. Skipper appreciated those who have served and continue to serve and work in our communities, encouraging reflection on the significance of the July 4th holiday.  She would like to move forward with consensus on consideration for securing an internal auditor.

Mrs. Bolla thanked the retirees for their years of service and wished them happiness in the next chapter of their lives.  She appreciated the CCDS Police Department for the five years of service they provided in keeping students first and safe.  She wished all a happy July 4th and encouraged relaxation and enjoyment of the last few weeks of summer.

Mrs. Hanson wanted to ensure the discussion of the internal auditor will continue at the next workshop.  She noted that her daughter resigned from teaching after 17 years and indicated that serves as a good reminder to understand the necessity of doing everything possible to retain good teachers.  She is proud that Clay County is leading the way in removing inappropriate books and appreciated the work that the district and media specialists are doing through the summer.  She thanked the school board attorneys, district personnel, and all who worked to ensure a great transition to the Sheriff's Office.

Mrs. Clark noted a summer reading event at Community First Credit Union in Oakleaf to raise awareness of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and efforts to do more for early literacy.  She extended an invitation for another reading event to be held on July 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Community First Credit Union in Orange Park.  She shared an email from Patrick at CCSO noting personnel changes as some CCDSPD officers transitioned to CCSO and indicated the good fortune of a smooth transition.  She indicated there may be some confusion and noted she has spoken with some of the school guardians, indicating a briefing with the district would be beneficial to ensure all are on the same page.  Mr. Blocker indicated he would reach out to Mr. Broskie and counterparts to develop the appropriate presentation.  She requested information on where funds from the non-renewal of Achieve 3000 and additional bond money from The Southern Group were applied.
