First, Superintendent Davis made positive comments about Motivational Coaches of America, a new program to Clay County that will focus on intervention for at-risk students in our junior high schools.  

 

Next, Mr. Davis introduced the Insight Survey School Report using the attached PowerPoint.  The survey was sent to all teachers to collect feedback that will help principals set priorities around instructional culture.  

 

Superintendent Davis recognized the following principals as leaders of a top quartile school on the Instructional Culture Insight Survey for school year 2016-2017:

In addition to the original allocation package, Superintendent Davis provided changes that included :

  • reinstating 22 of the Nurse positions leaving 7 to be eliminated
  • reinstating 12 Instructional Technology in elementary resource leaving 5 positions to be eliminated
  • eliminating 6 Media Specialists in high schools and repositioning them to 6 elementary schools
  • reinstating 7 junior high Media Techs

Lengthy Board discussion took place and, subsequently, the Board decided to add Media Techs to high schools.
